STOP! Do you really need a website?

These days everyone needs a website, right? Well, perhaps - but a mistake lots of people make is not setting the goals for the website before commissioning it.

Before making decisions, such as which important features your website will contain and how much you are willing to pay for these important features, you need to know what return your aiming to achieve with the site.

Your 'web guy' may be able to help with this to some degree, but would you expect him to know enough about your business and its goals...? He (we'll will assume this guy is male for the purposes of this discussion) can really only guide you through the process. He can then advise on the most appropriate solutions based on your goals. After all, it's your business, not his that the website will represent...

When you know what you're aiming for from your website then you can start to judge what's most important to include in the project.
